Position Summary
The Supply Director is accountable for managing a portfolio of suppliers / contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) as well as able to grow the relationship and business as necessary based on GSK strategic objectives. This role will primarily ensure oversight of the supply base through the Project Specialists, Project Managers, Supplier Relationship Managers and/or Sr. Supplier Relationship Managers. Key responsibilities include establishing strategic goals and objectives for CMOs, ensuring alignment with GSK's commercial and manufacturing strategies, managing business & operations, quality and risk anticipation. To achieve this, the supply director is accountable to create adequate internal and external governance while ensuring strong business relationship with the CMO. The role is to ensure the integration of new commercial drug products within the commercial portfolio in collaboration with the GSC Supply Chain and R&D teams to ensure the effective delivery of products to patients in line with the GSK commercial ambition. Additionally, the role involves providing leadership, guidance, and coaching to direct reports to achieve business, operational, and quality objectives. The Supply Director is also accountable for managing performance and development of direct reports, staying within budget limits, and overseeing lifecycle activities related to the portfolio of Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). This role acts as a backup to the head of External Manufacturing Drug Substance.

Responsibilities
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Provide leadership and oversight of CMO performance metrics: on-time in full (OTIF) of supply, NPI delivery, Quality performance, management of GSK owned raw materials such as media and chromatography resin, etc.
  • Establish strategic goals and objectives for CMOs and PQTS teams and ensure site's business, operational and quality objectives and plans are aligned with GSK's commercial and manufacturing strategies and plans. The Supply Director is a member of product strategy leadership team (PSLT) at a strategic level.
  • Establish and manage day to day business, operations, quality relationships and communication between GSK and the CMOs.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and coaching to direct reports (N-1) for achieving EM business, operational and quality objectives, plans, and performance goals.
  • Manage performance and development of direct reports to achieve organizational and department goals and provide a productive work environment.
  • Accountable for delivery of supply within P&L.
  • Responsible for building and following up the operational budget to stay within limits related to the assigned portfolio. Responsible to leverage continuous improvement framework within the PQTS team to achieve operational excellence in the execution.
  • Drive GSK culture into team's way of working * Manage SRM/SCRM data to ensure proactive decision making to support changes in supply and demand.

Why You?

Basic Qualification
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

  • BS Degree (or international equivalent) in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Biotechnology or Biologics related field, Engineering, Logistics, Finance or Quality.
  • Minimum of 10 years Pharmaceutical Industry with a strong GMP background.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience leading direct or matrix teams.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with CMOs on supplier performance and relationship management across complex supply chains
  • Experience in manufacture and supply operations within a production facility
  • Experience implementing new product launches, integrating new business or business models, changing sources of supply and / or divesting products

Preferred Qualification
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Crisis Management and Business Continuity Planning
  • Understanding of planning systems and / or learning agility and desire to learn and understand
  • GPS / Lean Sigma experience
  • Financial Acumen and / or learning agility and desire to learn and understand
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement agility
  • Experience driving improvements in supplier metrics / KPI
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams to an aligned strategy
  • Understanding of digital, data analytics (DDA) principles and emerging technology and applications.
  • Practical experience working with change management approaches on a range of people, projects and programs
  • Highly effective at senior stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influence.
  • Refined ability to make decisions under pressure and time constraints.
  • Creative, conceptual thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
