The Legal Support Specialist plays a vital role in supporting attorneys within the JD/JS division, serving as a central point of contact for clients, courts, and external partners. This position blends client interaction with detailed administrative and legal responsibilities, including drafting documents, managing calendars, and coordinating case activities. It's an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys multitasking, takes initiative, and wants to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative legal team. About The Office of Public Advocate The Office of the Public Advocate seeks professionals, both attorneys, and legal staff members, to join our legal defense team! We're committed to the mission of protecting the fundamental rights of our clients. We're dedicated to providing effective legal representation to all indigent persons, those individuals who are not able to afford the services of private lawyers, when appointed by the Maricopa County Superior Court. Our clients include juveniles charged with criminal offenses, parents, and children in dependency and severance matters (loss of parental rights), and people facing court-ordered mental health evaluation and treatment. This position is open to current Maricopa County employees. Judicial Branch (i.e., Adult and Juvenile Probation and Superior Court) employees will not be considered as qualified for this opportunity.
