The New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled writer to serve as an Elected Official Correspondence Liaison within the Commissioner's Correspondence Unit. The selected candidate will play a critical role in managing written communications on behalf of the Commissioner, ensuring timely, accurate, and policy-aligned responses to inquiries from elected officials and the public. Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or Preferred Skills Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to communicate complex policy and technical information clearly and effectively. Strong research and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in government, public affairs, communications, or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with New York City government operations, transportation policy, or urban planning concepts is a plus. Residency Requirement New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
