Lecturer

The Department of Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature invites applications for part-time, temporary Lecturer positions for openings occurring in the fall 2026 semester (8/31/26-1/13/27) and the spring 2027 semester (1/14/27-5/30/27). Duties include teaching undergraduate students in assigned course(s), holding office hours to assist and advise students, and participating in department meetings and service to the department.

Spring 2027

• CSCL/SCMC 1201W Cinema, F 9:45-12:45 (cap 96 with two TAs)
• CSCL 1501W-002 Reading History, M/W 9:45-11:00 (cap 26)
• CSCL/SCMC 3212W Documentary Cinema, M 2:30-5:00 & W 2:30-3:20 (cap 33 with 25% TA)
• CSCL/SCMC 3221 On Television, Online Asynchronous (cap 85 with one TA)
• CSCL 3251 Popular Music and Mass Culture, T/Th 11:15-12:30

Pay Information:
$7,000-$15,000 per course depending on education/qualifications/experience.

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline
• Detailed and extensive knowledge of history, theory, and social context of the fields to be taught
• Familiarity with the Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature curricula

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years of teaching experience at the collegiate level in relevant disciplinary fields with documented evidence of teaching excellence
