Position Title: Phlebotomist I
Work Location:NC - Huntersville - 9615 Kinsey Avenue - Suite 210
Training & orientation: 5901 Northwoods Business Parkway, Charlotte, NC for first week then second week they will be on worksite
Two weeks of training in Charlotte
Assignment Duration: 3 Months
Work Schedule: 8am-5pm M-F
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Vaccine Requrement: ?T-DAP, Varicella, MMR, (can sign declination), FLU (can sign declination), Hep B (Candidate can decline Hep B), TB, color vision is required.

Their main duties are drawing blood, packing, computer systems, and processing for the couriers to pick up. We are looking for at least 1 year of experience as they will be alone and this is a fast-paced site.
Position Summary

The Phlebotomist I will be responsible for performing blood draws, specimen collection, processing, and related laboratory duties. This role includes troubleshooting, workflow support, and ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards.


Background & Context

  • Coverage for LOA/FMLA at Alexandria IOP
  • Occasional support required at Manassas PSC


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles
  • Collect, label, centrifuge, process, and store specimens accurately
  • Ensure proper matching of requisition forms with specimen tubes
  • Follow all specimen handling, storage, and transport protocols
  • Explain procedures clearly to patients (blood draw, urine, fecal collection)
  • Maintain patient records and update information as required
  • Package specimens for transport maintaining integrity standards
  • Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations
  • Support lab operations including answering calls and relaying results
  • Participate in training and provide workflow improvement suggestions


Qualifications & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab/hospital setting
  • 2-4 years of overall experience preferred
  • Valid Phlebotomy Certification (if required by state)
  • Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong ability to work independently and in a team


  • How many draws are required daily? 50-60, 25 per person
  • What is the work environment? (Patient service center, doctor's office) IOP - Internal Medicine
  • If this is a patient service center, how big is the location? Medium sized
  • How long is the worker expected to stand? Most of their shift - 1 hour lunch break, 15 minute break as well
  • Are there any specialties? (Pediatric, geriatric) Teenagers to geriatrics
  • Will this person work with a team or alone? 2 man site, and then working by themselves in the afternoon
