Job Summary:

In a career as a Senior Staff Audiologist, you join us in providing life-changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will independently provide diagnostic audiological services to outpatients and inpatients (when applicable) suspected of having ear, hearing, and/or balance disorders. Precept, mentors, and trains audiology graduate students and/or mentors and trains new clinical staff. Perform general and complex diagnostic services and has comprehensive competency in a particular population or disorder (e.g., vestibular, tinnitus, implantable devices); or serve as a member or lead audiologist to a multi-disciplinary team (e.g., CFC, PHC) or specialty workgroup. Participate in local, state, or national professional organizations.

Schedule: Full-Time, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Monday-Friday

Locations: Pacific Street MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.
  • Performs a wide range of routine and advanced audiological tests, as necessary, to determine the type and extent of vestibular and/or hearing disorders, proper referrals, and appropriate follow-up services.
  • Performs Aural Rehabilitation including appropriate assistive device services, per patient needs.
  • Precepts, mentors, or directly trains student externs and/or directly mentors newly hired clinical audiologists.
  • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) Audiologist to provide oversite for special projects, specific service areas, or multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Supports translational research by sharing research opportunities with patients and by implementing research initiatives in clinical practice.
  • Participation in local, state or national professional organizations, such as presentations, publications, committee involvement, and/or professional review
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Clinical Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from an ETB accredited college or university required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be Board Certified in Audiology from the American Board of Audiology (ABA) required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience as a certified & licensed clinical audiologist required.
  • Currently serving or has served as primary preceptor or mentor (or the equivalent) for fourth year extern student or new clinical staff required.
  • Completion of two (2) hours of preceptor training through ASHA required.
  • Eligible for appropriate state licensing, within three (3) months of transfer or hire required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of vestibular and hearing disorders for patients of all ages required.
  • Comprehensive clinical expertise/training in at least one area of clinical practice required.
  • CITI training and certification required.
  • CPR (BLS) certification required.
