The Opportunity:

The UCF College of Nursing is seeking an Academic Advisor III to support current and prospective graduate nursing students through recruitment, application, advising, and degree progression. This role provides guidance on admissions processes, plans of study, course registration, and program requirements for MSN and DNP programs. The Academic Advisor III partners with faculty and staff to support student success, maintains student records and plans of study in university systems, and assists with orientation and student engagement initiatives. This position also represents the College of Nursing at oncampus and offcampus recruitment events and information sessions and performs other related duties.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment:


  • Leads and facilitates prospective student discussions to provide information and guidance about the graduate programs and to give advisement on course schedules and plans of study.

  • Attends Graduate Student Fair and recruitment events on-campus and off-campus.

  • Responds to website inquiries from prospective students.

  • Advises prospective students by providing program information and advising on the University's admissions processes.


Application Process and Orientation:


  • Participates in the review of MSN/DNP applications

  • Reviews and revise orientation materials and Webcourse content for newly admitted students.

  • Creates plans of study for newly admitted students in LEAP*RN.


Advisement:


  • Advises current students in regards to their classes, class schedules, course workloads, etc.

  • Consults with assigned faculty advisors regarding student course performance and program progress.

  • Sends announcements and updates to graduate nursing students as needed in regards to registration, graduation, etc.

  • Guides and educates students in navigating University systems and connect them to various University and community resources when relevant and necessary.

  • Assists in the development of programs and initiatives to enhance student engagement.

  • Maintains and updates the plans of study in LEAP*RN.

  • Conducts preliminary reviews and verification of graduating student records in PeopleSoft.

  • Processes eForms in PeopleSoft to correct any errors in degree audits.


Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 1+ year of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Prior project management experience, including tracking progress and meeting established deadlines.

  • Working knowledge of student information systems such as PeopleSoft, including degree audits, eForms, and graduation verification.

  • Familiarity with AACN, HIPAA, and FERPA regulations.

  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.


The most successful candidates may possess the following qualities:


  • Experience maintaining organized records, files, or tracking systems to support daily operations.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail when reviewing information, documentation, or data for accuracy and completeness.

  • Experience communicating information clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to work independently and be part of a team environment while developing highly effective and valued professional relationships with peers, colleagues, and cross-functional teams.

  • The anticipated salary for a well-qualified candidate is between $42,367-$51,899.50. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

  • Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.

  • Applicant must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer, as sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • UCF College of Nursing is located at the Dr. Phillips Nursing Pavilion on UCF's Academic Health Sciences Campus in Lake Nona. Address: 6825 Lake Nona Blvd. Orlando, FL 32827. Parking with valid UCF parking pass is available in the lot and shuttle service is available from Main Campus to the College of Nursing.
