The Beirne B. Carter Center Immunology Research (CIC) at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine seeks applicants for a Laboratory Specialist to become a participating member of the Sun Lab. The primary purpose of this junior level position is to assist with performing complex experiments, per the direction of Principal Investigator or senior staff, to perform biological, immunological, chemical or physical analysis. The position requires coordinating research projects and logistics with other lab members; compliance with University, Federal, and State policies and procedures; consulting with junior faculties and Principle Investigator regularly; and oversight of laboratory purchasing, equipment, and supplies required for operation of the laboratory. The individual should be self-guided and creative in seeking possible solutions to experimental/design challenges at hand and have strong communication skills. Responsibilities
