Job Summary

The Material Planner is responsible for end-to-end inventory planning and management, ensuring material availability to support manufacturing and customer demand. This role oversees inventory policies, replenishment strategies, and system parameters while collaborating with purchasing and supply chain teams to optimize supplier performance. The position requires strong analytical skills, SAP expertise, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve material shortages in a dynamic environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Manage end-to-end inventory planning from purchase requisition through customer fulfillment.
  • Define and implement inventory policies based on segmentation strategies.
  • Calculate and maintain inventory parameters, including safety stock, reorder points, lot sizes, lead times, and replenishment strategies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment through purchase orders.
  • Analyze potential material shortages and coordinate with purchasing teams to resolve supply issues.
  • Adjust system parameters and troubleshoot planning exceptions within SAP.
  • Collaborate with buyers to improve supplier performance, including on-time delivery, lead time, and order flexibility.
  • Support internal customer service inquiries related to material availability and planning.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to monitor trends and optimize inventory performance.
  • Ensure alignment between inventory planning and manufacturing schedules.


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in material planning, purchasing, or supply chain operations.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP MM and/or PP modules.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and control principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Work authorization required to work in the United States.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field required.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in material planning, purchasing, or supply chain required
