Job Title: Advanced Machinist Technician
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Employment Type: Contract
Industry: Defense
Compensation: $32.17 plus 10% shift differential
Schedule: 2nd Shift
What You'll Do:
  1. Operate machine tools including lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and saws
  2. Set up equipment, make adjustments, and perform basic machine maintenance
  3. Interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and process sheets to complete production tasks
  4. Cut and shape metal materials to precise dimensions and tolerances
  5. Inspect finished parts using gauges, jigs, and fixtures to ensure quality standards

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • 3+ years of machining experience or completion of a technical certificate program
  • 3+ years of experience operating machine tools such as lathes, mills, or drill presses
  • 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering or CAD drawings
What Sets You Apart:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and statistical process control methods
  • Solid communication and teamwork skills in a production environment
  • Basic computer and organizational skills
  • Interest in leveraging new technologies, including AI, for process improvement
