Description

Markon is seeking a Project Manager to support the Simulator Development & Integration team within the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. This team develops advanced, high-fidelity simulation training tools used to train Sailors, with a long-term focus on next-generation training systems and simulator delivery over the coming decades. This role operates in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment and requires close coordination with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders across multiple organizations, including NNL, BPMI, Naval Reactors, and external suppliers. The Project Manager will support and lead complex technical projects from planning and scoping through installation and delivery.



Responsibilities

    Support project planning activities including defining scope, functional requirements, cost estimates, schedules, budgets, and risks
  • Support solicitation, placement, and oversight of subtier supplier contracts
  • Monitor project progress and performance against plans and initiate corrective actions as needed
  • Execute and manage project schedules and budget resources
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders across the program
  • Identify and implement solutions to resolve challenges and minimize project impacts
  • Ensure project deliverables meet scope, schedule, cost, and technical quality requirements
  • Support execution of complex technical projects from initial planning through installation and delivery


Qualifications

  • Must have active DOE L clearance or a DoD secret clearance to be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to support and execute project planning activities including scope, schedule, cost, and risk management
  • Experience monitoring project performance and implementing corrective actions
  • Ability to coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Willingness and ability to travel periodically to NNPP and supplier sites
  • Potential for telework up to 20%.

  • Program or project management experience within a technical environment
  • Experience managing complex technical projects
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills
  • Experience with project startup, technical writing, cost estimating, and supplier oversight
  • Experience working with engineers to define project scope and schedules
  • Experience managing project infrastructure including integrated plans, resource management, scheduling, risk management, change control, and status reporting
  • Ability to solve complex problems across organizations and work independently with minimal direction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Primavera P6
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

Pay Scale:

  • 5-9 years of experience - $120,000-$127,000
  • 10+ years of experience - $128,000-$145,000


Salary Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
