STS Technical Services is seeking a Facilities Specialist to support building maintenance, infrastructure reliability, and day-to-day operational readiness in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role is hands-on and broad by design. You are the person who keeps the facility working.

From preventative maintenance to emergency repairs, the expectation is simple. Diagnose quickly. Fix it right. Keep things moving.


Job Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure facilities operate efficiently
  • Conduct routine and periodic inspections to identify maintenance needs and prevent breakdowns
  • Diagnose and repair issues across building systems, machinery, and equipment
  • Lead and support less-experienced maintenance personnel as needed
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and vendors for specialized repairs or projects
  • Perform and oversee maintenance trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical work, and welding
  • Maintain and support upkeep of hangar spaces, office areas, break rooms, and restrooms
  • Perform general grounds maintenance, including care of outdoor areas and facility surroundings
  • Maintain company equipment such as golf carts
  • Assist with furniture setup, office assembly, and workspace reconfiguration
  • Set up tables, cabinets, chairs, and equipment for meetings and events
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of facilities or maintenance experience
  • Experience across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and welding
  • Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance tools, and repair techniques
  • Valid driver's license required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Broad technical knowledge across multiple maintenance disciplines
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve facility-related issues independently
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of basic office systems including Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with maintenance systems, company policies, and procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Work Environment

  • Facility-based role with exposure to indoor and outdoor environments
  • Must follow all OSHA, EPA, and regulatory safety requirements
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators when necessary

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
  • Occasional sitting, crawling, and reaching
  • Regular operation of company vehicles as needed
