Who we are looking for: The Senior Vice President of Mortgage Loan Servicing Default Management is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for mortgage servicing default operations, including Escrow Administration and customer support functions. This role ensures effective default servicing strategies, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and strong risk management practices across the organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching to direct reports while establishing clear priorities, objectives, and performance expectations.
- Collaborate across business units to ensure alignment and execution of shared organizational goals.
- Oversee default management strategies designed to maximize asset value, including collections, loss mitigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and related servicing activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of default-related claims to mitigate financial risk and secure reimbursement for eligible loss mitigation activities.
- Manage and develop a team of VPs and Supervisors, ensuring operational workflows comply with regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and internal policies.
- Oversee departmental training initiatives, productivity management, employee development, and performance evaluation processes.
- Ensure default servicing activities are conducted in compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, agency requirements, and GSE guidelines.
- Identify and implement technology solutions and process improvements that drive operational efficiency and enhance team performance.
- Maintain effective First Line of Defense controls, including quality control (QC) processes and KPI reporting, and regularly communicate performance and compliance results to leadership.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within default administration by directing projects, identifying operational gaps, and implementing corrective actions.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
What you'll need to be successful:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the mortgage servicing industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in default administration or default servicing operations.
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership and/or management experience.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and managing First Line of Defense controls.
- Strong knowledge of federal regulations, state laws, agency requirements, and GSE/government servicing guidelines.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize complex workloads and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Experience with workflow management, operational reporting, and KPI development.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Results-driven professional with the ability to adapt effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrated personal accountability and strong attention to detail.
