Maintenance Supervisor (3rd Shift Tuesday - Saturday) - JLL

What this job involves:

As a Maintenance Supervisor at JLL, you will lead 3rd shift facilities operations for a critical manufacturing facility, ensuring the safe and efficient performance of all building systems while managing a skilled maintenance team. This role is essential to maintaining operational excellence and client satisfaction through proactive preventative maintenance programs, emergency response coordination, and regulatory compliance. You will serve as the primary on-site leader during overnight operations, interfacing directly with client stakeholders, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring that our facility supports uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This position offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on facility performance while developing your leadership capabilities in a dynamic industrial environment.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Review and maintain shift turnover logbook and conduct daily meetings with alternate shift managers and general manager to ensure seamless operational continuity

  • Conduct daily safe operating tours of facility systems, prioritize Help Desk work orders, and distribute tasks through Maximo CMMS for preventative maintenance execution

  • Supervise maintenance team, housekeeping staff, outside contractors, and vendors to solve building operational issues and maintain facility performance standards

  • Review and close out all Maximo work orders (WPMs, WPMRs) and Help Desk requests while ensuring documentation compliance with company and audit requirements

  • Monitor operational budget, control expenses, order supplies through approved vendors, and identify cost-saving opportunities to support account financial targets

  • Implement emergency procedures, ensure EPA/OSHA compliance, and provide supervisory coverage for all emergency situations requiring immediate response

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key facility contacts, communicate project status to building occupants, and participate in account initiatives that enhance service delivery

Required Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience in facilities management with technical emphasis

  • 5-7 years of industry experience in a supervisory role managing facilities operations and maintenance teams

  • Proficiency in CMMS systems (Maximo preferred) for work order management, preventative maintenance scheduling, and documentation

  • Strong knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems with ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and management skills with proven ability to lead teams, manage contractors, and coordinate vendor relationships

  • Excellent communication skills for client relations, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders

  • Understanding of emergency procedures, facility operations management, budget development, and expense control

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing or automotive facility environments with understanding of production support requirements

  • Background in project management, capital improvement planning, and energy management or sustainability initiatives

  • Knowledge of EPA environmental regulations, OSHA safety standards, and audit compliance requirements

  • Experience with multiple CMMS platforms, building automation systems, and advanced facilities management technologies

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and operational excellence frameworks

  • Background in contractor management, vendor negotiations, budget forecasting, and financial analysis

Location: Lansing, MI

Work Shift: 3rd Shift, Tuesday - Saturday

Salary/Comp: $31.25
