The Peters Research Group develops tools to assess and manage contaminants in occupational and environmental settings. We are hiring a research assistant for the duties, which include- 50% running experiments to evaluate an electrostatic precipitator for real-time collection and measurement of bioaerosols. 30% literature search on novel ways to rapidly measure aerosol in liquid. 20% writing results of the experiments and the literature search. Required qualifications: BS with courses in Physics, Organic Chemistry, and Statistics Ability to troubleshoot issues Ability to interpret data, recognize abnormal results Effective written and oral communication Desired qualifications: Experience with R programming language, Excel, Word, Endnote Proficiency in calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex laboratory analytical instruments Rate of pay: $16.00 per hour Work hours: 8 am - 5 pm Percent effort: 75 - 100% time Dates of appointment: May - August 2026
