Description

The Data Management Analyst supports the Data Management team across database administration, reporting, automation, and enterprise data operations. This role assists with the creation, maintenance, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of databases and data platforms that securely store and manage large volumes of enterprise data.

The analyst supports data workflow automation, job scheduling, and report distribution processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort. Working closely with senior data management, reporting, and analytics staff, the role contributes to system enhancements, process documentation, and responses to data-related requests.

Key responsibilities include assisting with data collection and analysis, documenting process flows, and implementing simple logic or code changes under guidance. The role also supports database performance and data accuracy testing to ensure systems operate as intended. Additionally, the Data Management Analyst helps maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and data standards, ensuring updates and improvements are clearly documented and aligned with organizational governance and business needs.

  • Assist with the creation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of databases that manage enterprise data securely and accurately.
  • Support the collection, validation, and analysis of data used for reporting, operational needs, and business decision-making.
  • Help develop and maintain metadata inventories, standard definitions, process documentation, and operational manuals for data assets.
  • Assist with testing database performance, accuracy, and reliability, and help identify data quality issues or system errors.
  • Provide entry-level support for data related requests, collaborate with team members and stakeholders, and follow established data governance and security standards.

  • Jr. Data Management Analyst: Strong understanding of Data Models, databases, schemas, and security methodologies. Familiarity with relational databases and basic SQL.
  • Data Management Analyst: Strong practical experience with data modeling, metadata, and data lineage. Solid understanding of data security, privacy, and access governance. Proficiency in SQL and data profiling techniques
  • Sr. Data Management Analyst: Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills. Deep understanding of enterprise data architecture and governance. Strong knowledge of data security, risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential position requirement satisfactorily, and a skills inventory is listed below.

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology related program or 3-5 years' experience in a data related field.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture and data base design principles.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or SQL.
  • Experience in financial services (banking, insurance, wealth management).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Demonstrated leadership and self-direction.
  • A background screening will be conducted.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents. Possesses professional communication and interpersonal skills to write and speak effectively both one-on-one and before groups of clients or employees of the organization. Ability to communicate to clients directly and effectively.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Ability to utilize telephone systems and possess good digital literacy including email, internet and intranet use. Working knowledge of data modeling tools such as SQL, Crystal, Power BI, Tableau, etc. Project management experience. Strong familiarity with data preparation, processing, classification, and/or forecasting. Ability to present technical ideas in user-friendly language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve challenging problems involving several variables in a standardized situation.

This position operates in a professional office environment with considerable time spent at a desk using office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. Ability to travel on occasion to all market areas and attend seminars or training sessions offsite and employee meetings off-site.
