Position Summary

Direct global continuing education activities for Health Professionals for the College of Nursing and Health Professions (CNHP), Center for Health Professions Lifelong Learning (CHPLL).

Duties/Responsibilities

Conduct needs assessments to determine appropriate noncredit courses, seminars, conferences, and workshops to offer.

Conduct needs assessments to determine appropriate noncredit online programming for global audiences.

Provide support to achieve CNHP's strategic goals.

Direct the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of all CHPLLL continuing education activities.

Design innovative programs, maintain and revise materials, and facilitate/teach programs including but not limited to synchronous and asynchronous programming.

Serve as an active member of planning committees in identification of content experts, speakers, reviewers, and others to provide high-quality continuing education activities.

Communicate with participants, attendees, planning committee members, instructors, speakers, content experts, and others to facilitate adult learning and resolve issues.

Assure a needs assessment was completed for each continuing educational activity.

Assure the target audience identified is appropriate for the content presented.

Work with staff to assure all forms required from planning committee, presenters, and reviewers of continuing education activity have been completed correctly and are consistent with accreditation guidelines.

Review forms from planning committee for conflict of interest. If found, follow procedure for mitigation and disclosure.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of assigned programs, gather feedback from participants, and make data-driven improvements to enhance program outcomes.

Compile evaluation data to share with planning committee and presenters. Analyze data and submit activity report as needed for Joint Accreditation Program and Activity Reporting (JA-PARS).

Participate in marketing efforts by displaying at conferences and creating website advertising.

Conduct literature reviews in collaboration with USI Rice Library on program topics.

Monitor nursing and health-related trends for evidence based guidelines to incorporate into continuing education activities.

Develop and maintain policies and procedures that adhere to accreditation guidelines.

Directs the needs assessments for the CHPLLL.

Directs the CHPLLL's overall evaluation plan. Develop and manage the budget for the Center.

Monitor the budgets of each continuing education activity.

Utilize pertinent databases to extract pertinent data to support projects.

Strategize marketing plans for local and national audiences.

Perform public informational presentations to promote the CHPLLL.

Identify, solicit, build and maintain relationships with regional and national experts in desired healthcare specialties.

Maintain policies and procedures that adhere to credentialing organizations' interprofessional continuing education standards.

Participate in writing self-study and other accreditation requirements.

Demonstrate expert knowledge of accreditation standards and other health professions guidelines to ensure adherence to guidelines through continuous monitoring and evaluation of ongoing programs.

Develop strategic partnerships to promote the CHPLLL.

Provide grant-writing support as appropriate.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Master's degree in health related field required.

Five years related experience in instruction, education or continuing education required.

If a healthcare practitioner, current unencumbered Indiana license.

Knowledge of computers, internet, word processing, spreadsheet, database and email software.

Demonstrated time management and organizational skills effective in project development and management.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills suitable for networking and relationship building within USI, as well as the community.

Demonstrated decision-making ability.

Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, students, staff, and health care providers, national and global agencies.

Have a valid driver's license-or alternate means of facilitating local and regional travel to locations in the Tri-State area to visit healthcare sites and attend meetings.

Functional Requirements

Remaining in a stationary position at a desk or workstation for extended periods of time for the majority of assigned duties.

Occasional physical access to meetings, presentations, and events that occur at on-campus sites such as classrooms and meeting rooms, and at various sites throughout the local and regional community. May require extensive physical activity with some events to oversee activities, to set up, make presentations and to interact with attendees.

Ability to use computers and computer systems (hardware and software) to set up functions, to enter data, to retrieve and process information and to create documents and presentations.

Effective problem-solving and the presentation of a consistently professional demeanor while meeting deadlines and achieving critical outcomes, even under demanding conditions such as multiple priorities and short-notice deadlines.

Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements

Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Occasional irregular hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends may be required to support educational activities.

Frequent local travel to meetings; occasional regional travel may be required.
