Health Solutions Actuarial Vice President

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering Aon's Benefit Experience solution within Aon's Health Solutions vertical. Your role will include participating in prospect bid and client account management, allowing you build and manage strong and sustainable relationships with clients, and will require you to respond to the needs and objectives of large market employer health benefit plans. The role is for an individual with a strong analytics background who is interested in actuarial and strategic consulting.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Chicago, IL offices. Although we would prefer candidates to work in a hybrid work environment, we are willing to consider a virtual work enviornment for a strong candidate.

What the Day will Look Like:
  • Lead consulting actuary on client team, leading actuarial projects and client relationship
  • Project savings/costs related to Aon's Benefit Experience
  • Mentor and leverage work to less experienced actuaries, including prioritization
  • Lead data collection and review: feasibility studies; annual RFP process
  • Financial modeling (including quality review) of medical and dental quoted rates vs. self-insured projections
  • Lead initial bid analysis (including actuarial value modeling) to assist with the negotiation process
  • Defined Contribution modeling
  • Implementation support to benefits administration teams
  • Participation in Health & Benefits practice sponsored and external training, to grow consulting acumen
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires keeping up with multiple deadlines at the same time
  • Make statements of actuarial opinion and lead analysis behind them; directly responsible for all actuarial deliverables
  • Communicate actuarial results to clients; lead/support all financial meetings, explaining actuarial results and potential alternatives
  • Seek and provide peer review to ensure high quality client deliverables; including checking for reasonableness of assumptions and results
  • Develop general consulting skills, knowledge, and exposure
  • Manages priorities, communicates potential delays, and delivers results on time
  • Proactively accepts new projects when they become available

Required Experience:
  • FSA/ASA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or Associate of the Society of Actuaries) designation required
  • Health and welfare consulting experience: 10+ years of industry experience (carrier or health care consulting)
  • Project/client/financial management experience
  • Broad business knowledge/perspective
  • Business development experience, including competitor and market knowledge a plus
Education
  • Bachelor's degree
Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position intended for U.S. applicants is $175,000-$215,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of State/Region. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive [an annual discretionary bonus] in addition to base salary. The amount of any [bonus] varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
