IMEG is hiring a Senior Survey Technician in Palmetto Bay, Florida, to support land surveying projects through office production, incoming data processing, and final project deliverables. In this role, you will support office and field staff across survey activities, apply broad project knowledge to land surveying work, and contribute to accurate, standards-based deliverables for clients and project teams.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Process survey data using IMEG CAD standards while evaluating accuracy and ensuring compliance with applicable land survey project and professional standards
  • Monitor field crew production and support quality assurance efforts
  • Research historical maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports
  • Perform complex survey computations and prepare staking/control exhibits and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects
  • Prepare cadastral, existing conditions, and platting deliverables from field and office data using AutoCAD Civil software
  • Carry out initial QC of field deliverables according to standards and best practices
  • Coordinate with your supervisor to help ensure client-specific demands are met
  • Act as a field technician as requested to complete survey fieldwork
  • Maintain professional and productive working relationships with clients and coworkers while observing safety and security procedures
  • Assist in training junior staff members

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Associate degree, or certificate, in Land Surveying or Engineering preferred
  • 8 years of experience minimum required, 10 preferred, in the land surveying, consulting or construction industry
  • Possess advanced knowledge of Survey operations, principles, and practices
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering plans and construction documents
  • Advanced knowledgeable of office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques
  • Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD or similar applications are a plus
  • Proficiency in technical math, geometry, and trigonometry is recommended
  • Possess basic oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with clients, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG
  • Valid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays
