The Sr Lead Infrastructure Engineer within Ecolab Digital is responsible for planning, implementing, and operating enterprise network and platform services to ensure reliable connectivity, optimized performance, and business continuity. This role provides technical direction across infrastructure initiatives, partners with internal stakeholders and vendors, and leads recovery actions during incidents to restore services quickly and safely.

What You Will Do

Leadership

  • Support the strategic roadmap for network, voice, and security platform lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with Ecolab Digital and business goals.
  • Lead infrastructure delivery for site and campus initiatives, including planning, cutover execution, and stabilization (hypercare/go-live support).
  • Coordinate with project managers, business leads, and operations teams to align scope, schedule, and readiness.
  • Monitor milestones, risks, and dependencies; escalate issues and drive timely resolution.

Collaboration

  • Ensure network and voice designs are aligned to organizational strategy, standards, and operational readiness.
  • Provide technical and procedural direction for implementation, configuration, and validation of infrastructure changes.
  • Interface with business users, supply chain/site personnel, and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Partner with telecom and technology vendors to manage delivery, service quality, invoicing support, and issue resolution.

Platform Management

  • Implement and maintain the lifecycle of network, voice, and security platforms, including planning, upgrades, patching, and decommissioning.
  • Operate and troubleshoot technologies including Cisco switching, VoIP/CUCM, Palo Alto firewalls, BlueCat DNS, cloud network architecture, F5 load balancers, Zscaler, and Armis.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and configuration records, including site diagrams (Visio) and asset/configuration data in ServiceNow CMDB.
  • Ensure business continuity by monitoring platform health and performance, responding to incidents, and initiating recovery actions after failures.
  • Support standards for equipment ordering, site deployments, infrastructure planning, and implementation quality.

Position Details

  • Work Location: Ecolab Corporate Locations (St. Paul, MN or Naperville, IL)
  • Work Model: Hybrid (60% on-site)
  • Shift: Monday-Friday, Core Hours

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of professional experience, or no degree and 12 years combined education and equivalent work experience.
  • 4 years of experience in an engineer role, project management role, or network support role.
  • Experience with Cisco switching, firewall administration, load balancing, DNS, and VoIP/CUCM technologies.
  • Experience generating and maintaining process and technical documentation.
  • Available for 24x7 weekly on-call rotation support.
  • Available for travel up to 25%.
  • No immigration sponsorship available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with systems deployments and lifecycle projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
  • Experience with scripting/programming, switch configurations, troubleshooting, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience deploying phone/voice projects, voice traffic design, and working with telecom vendors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and project management skills; ability to collaborate and deliver effectively with diverse teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience working in agile and lifecycle methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and navigate matrix organizations; demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and business acumen.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The base salary range for this position is $107,600.00 - $161,500.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
