Why This Role Matters The Team Leader Grounds plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality grounds maintenance services are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract requirements. This position provides daily leadership and support to mobile crew members, promotes a strong culture of safety and accountability, and helps create an inclusive, team-oriented work environment. Through hands-on leadership, training, and quality oversight, this role directly contributes to operational success and customer satisfaction while supporting the growth and development of employees, including individuals with disabilities. What You Will Do
- Plan, assign, and oversee daily work activities for grounds maintenance mobile crews in accordance with contract requirements and established standards.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and ongoing support to direct reports while promoting teamwork, reliability, integrity, and initiative.
- Train and reinforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety practices, and proper use of equipment, materials, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and customer expectations are met.
- Complete Daily Work Reports to support communication between Project Management, Quality Control, Facility Representatives, and Government stakeholders.
- Assist the Project Manager with quality assurance inspections, time studies, and job observations.
- Submit supply and material requests and maintain daily issuance and inventory control of supplies and equipment.
- Address employee and customer concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
- Coordinate with Rehabilitation Department staff to support implementation of individual program plans.
- Transport employees, supplies, and equipment to work sites as needed.
- Perform routine and minor maintenance and repairs on grounds maintenance equipment throughout the season and offseason.
- Remove snow and ice from walkways, roads, parking lots, and other designated areas using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Complete annual performance appraisals for direct reports.
- Maintain compliance with all company training requirements, contract standards, and safety regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or outlined within the Statement of Work (SOW).
