Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual Technician II to support the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of commercial AV systems across large-scale infrastructure and facility projects. This role is responsible for installing AV hardware, terminating and managing low-voltage cabling, building and troubleshooting AV equipment racks, and supporting control systems including Crestron, Extron, QSC (Q-SYS), Biamp, and Dante environments. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial AV installation experience, the ability to interpret blueprints and technical documentation, and the capability to lead or assist junior team members while maintaining a professional and safety-focused work environment.

Job Responsibilities




  • Install commercial audio/video control systems including Crestron, Extron, QSC (Q-SYS), Biamp, and Dante systems.



  • Install and configure projectors, televisions, displays, speakers, amplifiers, wireless microphones, and sound masking systems.



  • Mount AV hardware and equipment on various wall and ceiling types.



  • Install, route, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling including 18/2, coaxial, CAT5e, and CAT6 cabling.



  • Terminate RG6, HD-SDI, SDI, XLR, and RCA connections.



  • Build, wire, dress, and troubleshoot AV equipment racks.



  • Install cable pathways including J-hooks and D-rings.



  • Perform cable management, dressing, and labeling according to project standards.



  • Troubleshoot basic to intermediate audio, video, control systems, and AV software platform issues.



  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation drawings.



  • Coordinate work activities and assist with guiding junior technicians when required.



  • Maintain professional written and verbal communication with team members and management.



  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, OSHA standards, and jobsite cleanliness expectations.




Job Requirements




  • Minimum 2 years of commercial AV installation experience.



  • Experience installing, terminating, and troubleshooting AV racks, speakers, projectors, displays, televisions, microphones, and related AV systems.



  • Working knowledge of AV control systems including Crestron and Extron.



  • Experience with QSC (Q-SYS), Biamp, and Dante platforms is required.



  • Ability to troubleshoot AV-specific software platforms at a basic to intermediate level.



  • Ability to read and interpret construction prints and technical drawings.



  • Strong understanding of commercial AV environments including corporate, retail, educational, industrial, and healthcare facilities.



  • Active OSHA 10 certification preferred.



  • Ability to work independently and assist with leading small teams when needed.



  • Must be able to work on ladders and scissor lifts, work in confined spaces, stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds.



  • Must provide and use basic hand tools including screwdrivers, tape measure, snips, pliers, coax cable tools, punch down tool, flashlight, gloves, work boots, and tool pouch.




Education




  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.




Work Experience




  • Minimum 2 years of commercial audio visual installation experience required.



  • Experience working in commercial AV environments including corporate, retail, education, industrial, and healthcare facilities preferred.

Additional Job Details (Commute, Attendance, etc.)




  • Typical schedule begins at 7:00 AM.



  • Expected work hours are approximately 40-45 hours per week.



  • Project environments may include corporate offices, retail facilities, schools, industrial sites, hospitals, and healthcare facilities.
