The Senior Employer Partnerships Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Internship, Apprenticeship, & Career Center in the Division of Professional Studies and works alongside the Learn and Earn Coordinators and the Coordinator of Internships to advocate for students and increase community awareness and student participation in a full range of internship opportunities: academic program, Learn and Earn, STEM and non-credit career development internships. The primary focus of this role is to build and cultivate relationships with employers and support the strategic development of the College's employer partnership initiatives acting as a primary contact for new internship and career development host sites.

This role requires a mix of administrative/systems work (CORI checks, Handshake administration), outreach work with employers, event coordination, and student service.


  • Coordinate CORI process for college programs.
  • Timely process of CORI background checks for College programs.
  • Administer career search online platform (Handshake) and work with students and alumni on Handshake job searches.
  • Act as first point of contact for employer referrals from other college personnel.
  • Screen employers to determine, along with supervisor, appropriate level of engagement.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to build and cultivate employer partnerships.
  • Expand opportunities for students to engage with employers in pre-employment phases (e.g. job site visits, internships) including logistics/shadowing.
  • Recruitment of students for specific events with employers.
  • Cultivate recurring internship opportunities with area businesses and community organizations.
  • Engage in new and existing employer contract tracking/renewal, maintaining with supervisor review associated legal documentation (e.g. MOU).
  • Ensure contract renewal activities and BHCC internal operational processes are managed/maintained.
  • Collaborate with Workforce and Economic Development personnel to provide focused employer partnership recruitment efforts.
  • Provide support, as needed, to other initiatives in the Internship, Apprenticeship, & Career Center.
  • Organize on campus events that connect employers with students (Career Fairs, Networking Events, Luncheons).
  • Contribute to the marketing and communication plan for the Department, including creating content for web, print, social media, and e-mail communications.
  • Attend program advisory board meetings and industry events to stay abreast of industry trends and needs to support the development of innovative programming and develop professional contacts.
  • Program development and evaluation.
  • Support student job seekers by publicizing opportunities with employers (e.g., Develop monthly partnership newsletter).
  • Share student employment opportunities with appropriate faculty and staff (e.g.,weekly college updates, campus newsletter).
  • Answer student questions regarding IAC department.

Requirements:


  • Master's degree in Business, Human Resources,Communications or closely related field; with 3 years of experience and/or training in any combination of career counseling, human resource management, recruitment, marketing, and public relations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to effectively market and represent a program to employers across broad industries.
  • Collaborative, self-directed, outcome-oriented, and strong customer service presence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, creative thinking, and communication skills
  • Evidence of relationship-building or project management skills
  • Attention to detail; ability to learn and utilize new internet-based recruiting and computer technologies.
  • Ability to relate and understand the needs of a diverse student population and work effectively with a broad range of internal and external constituent.
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.

Preferred Requirements:


  • Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague or other Student Information Systems.
  • Knowledge of Handshake or other career center platforms.
  • Experience working in a community college setting.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $73,412 - $79,091 (Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement).

Grade: 5, Unit-Professional position. Full State Benefits.
