*Professional Summary*
Patient-focused healthcare professional responsible for delivering a consistent, compassionate, and efficient registration experience across all points of access. Ensures accuracy in patient information, regulatory compliance, and timely completion of registration and administrative workflows to support high-quality patient care and operational success. Demonstrates strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills while working effectively in fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environments. *Key Responsibilities* * Provide a professional and compassionate first point of contact, ensuring a positive patient experience throughout registration and admission. * Complete patient registrations accurately and within designated timeframes to ensure accounts are compliant, billable, and free from rework. * Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and financial information; issue and confirm patient armbands for accuracy and safety. * Assess patient condition during intake and promptly notify clinical staff of any urgent or emergent needs. * Collect and document co-payments in accordance with EMTALA and organizational financial policies. * Present and obtain signatures for required documents, including ABNs, Advance Directives, and Patient Rights and Responsibilities. * Enter and update orders, account notes, work queues, and system documentation with a high level of accuracy and timeliness. * Coordinate patient flow by directing or escorting patients to appropriate departments and assisting with bed assignments and transfers when applicable. * Maintain and scan all required documentation, ensuring proper storage and compliance with recordkeeping standards. * Secure and document patient valuables according to established policies and procedures. * Assist with specialized processes such as workers' compensation/L&I forms, diagnostic imaging order entry, and ancillary service coordination. * Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate service or operational issues that may impact patient care or workflow efficiency. * Support additional front-of-house operations, including the Information Desk and guest services as needed. *Qualifications* * Experience in healthcare registration, patient access, or medical front desk operations preferred * Knowledge of insurance processes, managed care payors, and Medicare Secondary Payer guidelines * Understanding of EMTALA, HIPAA, CMS, JCAHO, and other regulatory standards * Familiarity with CPT/ICD coding and medical terminology preferred * Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and care teams * Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment * High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality * Ability to resolve issues independently and escalate appropriately when needed * Experience using EMR/EHR systems and electronic work tools for documentation and verification * Demonstrated teamwork, professionalism, and alignment with organizational values * Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adapt to changing workflows Shift: Tuesday - Saturday, 10:30 AM - 7:30 PM *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
