Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer 2

Location(s): Orlando, FL

Experience Level

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or quality engineering.
  • Strong technical background in complex manufacturing environments, particularly welding and complex machining.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier quality activities, including product and process qualifications (PPQs).
  • Manage supplier non-conformance issues from identification through resolution.
  • Drive root cause investigations and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance with quality management requirements.
  • Develop and improve supplier capabilities to meet current and future manufacturing needs.
  • Support supplier qualification, approval, and ongoing performance management.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams to resolve quality concerns.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, digitalization, and lean processes.
  • Support cost reduction and business continuity efforts within the supply chain.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Technical education or degree in quality, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
  • Understanding of supplier quality management and quality control practices.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production methods.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience with critical and complex components such as shafts, discs, and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of inspection methodologies and capability assessments.
  • Ability to manage multiple investigations and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with quality improvement tools such as:
    • 8D
    • 5 Whys
    • Ishikawa (Fishbone) Analysis
  • SAP experience.

Work Environment

  • Minimum three days per week in office.
  • Travel required up to 50% to supplier locations, including sites in Connecticut.
  • Significant supplier-facing responsibilities with regular on-site manufacturing support.
