This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. FTT will require proof of status prior to employment.

General Job Summary:

The Test Technician will support the general setup, operation, maintenance, and testing of gas turbine components, subsystems, engines and related test facility equipment. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to follow written procedures and work instructions, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Follow written procedures, work instructions, engineering drawings, and test plans to support testing activities.
  • Assist with installation and removal of test hardware, instrumentation, and support equipment.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.
  • Support operations including equipment setup, test preparation, and post-test inspections.
  • Document work performed and maintain accurate records of maintenance and test activities.
  • Identify and report equipment discrepancies, safety concerns, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with company safety and quality standards.
  • Work closely with senior technicians, engineers, and other team members to accomplish project objectives.

Required Experience:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with standard industrial safety practices and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Basic familiarity with gas turbine engines or rotating machinery preferred.

Education and Experience:



  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical school, vocational training, military technical training, or related coursework preferred.
  • 0i3 years of applicable mechanical, industrial, automotive, aviation, power generation, or related experience.


Work Environment/Physical Requirements:



  • Work performed in a combination of office, lab and outside environment.
  • Must be capable of climbing ladders, working on elevated platforms, and accessing confined work areas as required.
  • Will be required to perform lifting of materials and equipment up to 35 pounds.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, and move about the facility.


Personal Protective Equipment:



  • When required in designated lab areas.


Travel Requirements:



  • Some domestic and international travel.
