SHIFT: Day (United States of America)Seeking Breakthrough Makers About the Laboratory TheDeRaedtLab is located at the Children's Hospital Philadelphia and University of Pennsylvania, PA, USA. We aim todevelop novel, successful therapies, including cellular and immunotherapies, for children with brain tumors by dissecting the fundamental processes of tumor biology anddeveloping highly relevant mouse models. Why join us? High impact science: Cutting edge basic translational projects with a number of recent high profile publications (Nature Neuroscience, Molecular Cancer Therapeutics) Focus: Neurofibromatosis type I associated gliomas and sporadic pediatric HGG Goal: Elucidate what drives glioma to develop rational therapies and translate these findings into preclinical trials. Research environment: We are part of the rich academic environment of the University of Pennsylvania, and have a direct connection to the Children's Hospital Philadelphia which allows us to rapidly translate any of our findings. Ongoing projects: Genetic drivers of NF1 HGG: Elucidating the role of additional genetic drivers in NF1 HGG (ATRX) by generating mouse models. MHCII antigen presentation/myeloid mimicry: Elucidate the role MHCII expression in NF1 HGG tumor cells (see poster ISPNO, Molecular Cancer Therapeutics) Advanced preclinical modeling: Optimizing tumoroid/organoid cultures for NF1 associated high- and low-grade glioma (see poster ISPNO). Next-Gen CAR-T therapies: Developing CAR-T therapies for NF1 associated malignancies (NF1 HGG, NF1 LGG and MPNST). We developed a unique pipeline that allows us to target internal proteins using CAR-T (see poster ISPNO). Cellular delivery vectors: Using migratory interneuron precursors as a cellular delivery vector for therapeutic proteins to glioma (see presentation ISPNO, accepted in Nature Neuroscience). https://www.research.chop.edu/de-raedt-laboratory
