Job Description

The Senior Director, Global Quality - Protective is responsible for developing and executing the global quality strategy by leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Sealed Air's Quality Management System (QMS). This role establishes global quality standards, testing protocols, and operational excellence practices to improve customer satisfaction, product quality, and business performance.



As a strategic leader, this position partners across Supply Chain, Engineering, Commercial, and Digital organizations to drive standardization, digital transformation, continuous improvement, and a culture of quality. The role serves as the global subject matter expert for quality systems, governance, and performance while building organizational capability and ensuring consistent execution across manufacturing sites and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Develop and execute the global quality strategy aligned with business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Build organizational capability by developing, mentoring, and connecting the global network of quality leaders.
  • Lead the continuous improvement and governance of the Global Quality Management System (QMS), including standards, procedures, testing methods, and best practices.
  • Lead quality aspects of the Smart Factory process tied into PMS procedures. This includes digital SPC tools to reduce defects/scrap, analyze capacity, and improve throughput/overall plant effectiveness.
  • Identify engineering controls for error proofing and lead the implementation of these systems globally.
  • Teach and mentor quality improvement projects using Six Sigma DMAIC principles.
  • Lead the quality pillar of the Global Performance Management System
  • Ensure compliance with corporate quality standards through audits, assessments, governance, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Establish global quality standards for equipment, tools, testing protocols, and laboratory operations.
  • Define and monitor global quality KPIs, including defect reduction, first pass yield, scrap, blocked stock, customer complaints, and PPM performance.
  • Ensure that customer documentation requests are fulfilled and work to streamline and automate this process.
  • Drive improvements in Blocked Stock reduction, first pass yield, and internal spoilage reduction.
  • Ensure a well-defined system is in place for 3rd Party Manufacturers with consistent quality that meets our internal standards.
  • Drive relationship with Sales and Portfolio management globally.
  • Drives standardization of practices in manufacturing as it pertains to quality systems and processes.
  • Align CQE priorities globally.
  • Champion knowledge sharing, documentation, and deployment of global quality best practices.



How Are You Qualified?



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of quality leadership experience in a global manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive leadership experience in Quality Management within a global manufacturing environment.
  • Deep expertise in Quality Management Systems, statistical methods, SPC, Lean Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise-wide quality transformation and organizational change.
  • Strong project management, auditing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience developing and leading high-performing technical teams across multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated commitment towards continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead through collaboration.
  • Experience with SAP, Business Warehouse (BW), and quality analytics tools preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated success implementing digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and data-driven quality solutions.
  • Demonstrated achievements in change management.
