THE ROLE:

We are looking for adynamic, energetic Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's products, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality,industry-leadingtechnologies tomarket. TheSystemsDesign Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation toshowcasesuccesses as well asfacilitatecontinuous career development.

THE PERSON:

As a Systems Design Engineer, you will drive scalable and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your systems engineeringexpertisewill be necessaryto define products,develop solutions,assess rootcauses,and producesolutionresolutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • ExperienceinSystem ValidationandHardware Design Validation
  • Strong understanding ofcore architecture; experience incore validation, running benchmarks/workloads
  • Familiarity withmultiple operating systemsandOS-based workloads/benchmarks
  • programming/scripting experiencein languages such asC/C++, Perl, Ruby, and Python
  • Proficient indebugging techniques and methodologies
  • Experience insoftware programmingandtool managementis an advantage
  • Extensive expertise inboard/platform-level debugging, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization
  • Deep knowledge ofsystem architecture,technical debugging, andvalidation strategies
  • Stronganalytical and problem-solving skillswith a keen attention to detail
  • Highlyself-motivatedand capable of independently driving tasks to completion

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g.,C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python).
  • Debug techniques and methodologies
  • Experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Experience with board/platform-leveldebug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization
  • Knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategies

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelors orMastersdegree in electrical or computer engineering

Austin, TX
