About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Marketo operations specialist to join a dynamic team supporting a large, complex marketing automation instance. This role balances proactive operational excellence with critical reactive support, addressing challenges and ensuring system integrity. You will primarily focus on data hygiene, in-depth troubleshooting, and system archaeology - meticulously examining, understanding, and refining years of existing configurations. Compliance tracking, including opt-in status, consent management, and regional data handling, will be a major, ongoing focus area. You will collaborate cross-functionally with internal data, sales, and account teams, and your ability to navigate complex systems with technical debt and limited documentation will be essential. This position emphasizes a versatile tool stack and strong troubleshooting instincts over front-end development skills like email or template HTML.

What You'll Do

• Lead the administration and maintenance of all aspects of the marketing automation platform, including workspaces, partitions, roles, permissions, and overall instance health.
• Design, build, and meticulously execute smart campaigns, leveraging both batch and trigger methodologies, with careful attention to flow steps, wait steps, and campaign processing priorities.
• Develop and manage sophisticated smart lists and segmentation strategies to enable dynamic content delivery and highly personalized, segment-driven customer experiences.
• Construct and deploy landing pages, forms, and programs efficiently, utilizing tokens and program templates to streamline processes.
• Oversee comprehensive data management initiatives, including imports, deduplication, list hygiene, field management, and seamless CRM synchronization to guarantee data accuracy and consistency.
• Manage and optimize critical platform integrations, utilizing REST and Bulk APIs, webhooks, and various third-party services to enhance system capabilities.
• Ensure robust email deliverability by actively monitoring sending performance, bounce rates, and Sent-versus-Delivered behavior, implementing improvements as needed.
• Conduct thorough reporting and analytics, complemented by rigorous QA and pre-send validation processes, to ensure campaign integrity and deliver actionable performance insights.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a marketing automation operations specialist, specifically with Marketo.
• Proven expertise in full Marketo platform administration, including instance configuration and health management.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage complex smart campaigns, smart lists, and advanced segmentation within Marketo.
• Extensive experience with landing page, form, and program creation, including proficient use of tokens and program templates.
• Strong background in comprehensive data management, encompassing imports, deduplication, list hygiene, and CRM synchronization.
• Familiarity with integrations utilizing REST and Bulk APIs, webhooks, and other third-party service integrations.
• Solid understanding of deliverability fundamentals, including email sending best practices, bounce management, and Sent-versus-Delivered behavior analysis.
• Experience with detailed reporting and analytics, coupled with a commitment to disciplined QA and pre-send validation processes.
• Comfort operating effectively in a complex, high-volume, multi-program marketing automation environment.
