JOB TITLE: Welcome Desk Attendant (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

PAY GRADE: 402

PAY RANGE: $17.60

JOB SUMMARY

The Welcome Desk Attendant greets all who enter the building, providing a positive first impression. As the first and last point of contact for those passing by or through the Welcome Desk, the Attendant is the face of Kroc and plays an important role in member satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to the following:



  1. Provide exceptional customer service to customers, clients and members entering the facility, offer directions and answer questions as needed.
  2. Answer all incoming calls quickly and politely, ability to answer basic questions about facility wide events and programs.
  3. Accurately input all sales and data into the Point of Sales system (Club Automation)
  4. Responsible to cash out and secure the POS area at the end of shift according to Salvation Army policies and procedures.
  5. Ensure Guest safety, immediately rectify and/or report any potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  6. Assist and direct members and guests in moving about the facility to avoid crowded conditions and maximize service efficiently.
  7. Register and check in members and guests for Church at the Kroc services, community events, programs, and activities using designated registration systems.
  8. Report any suspicion of Child Abuse to the appropriate supervisor and Child Protective Services.
  9. Generate legible and accurate accident and incident reports as required and forward to supervisor in time frames established.
  10. Notify security of any problems in registration area.
  11. In contacts related to this position's duties, this individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Education:



  • High school diploma or GED required.



Experience:



  • 1 year of experience in customer service with data entry duties.
  • Experience with a computer-based work environment.
  • Familiarity with Web based, and smart phone application preferred.



Continuing Education:



  • Complete Safe from Harm Training within 30 days
  • Annually complete Harassment Prevention and Bystander Training



Skills/Abilities:



  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
  • A professional style that is responsive to guest's expectations/needs/concerns.
  • Service orientation and excellent guest relations; anticipating and responding to the needs of clients, employees and management.
  • Must be attentive to and work appropriately with culturally and socio-economically diverse client population.
  • The ability to deal with challenging customer situations.
  • An ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure.
  • An understanding of customer service, the principals of guest relations and security protocols.
  • A willingness to promote the mission of The Salvation Army.



JOB LIMITATIONS



  • This individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved.
  • This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • The scheduled days of work for this position are Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • This position is required to do moderate physical work.
  • To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use standard office equipment and a PC.
  • Will be expected to participate in community center activities as needed.
  • The work environment for this position includes a community center environment with a medium to high noise level.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
