Position description

The Department of Neurological Surgery at UC Davis, School of Medicine is recruiting an endovascular neurosurgeon for a full-time faculty position.

The position is offered at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level within the Clinical Neurological Surgery series or the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series (commensurate with credentials). Successful candidates will have the foundation, preparation and vision to pursue a productive career in academic neurosurgery.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an active endovascular neurosurgery clinical practice, conduct clinical and/or basic science research, teach residents, medical students, and fellows, and provide University and public service. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team at UC Davis which includes Neurology, Neuro-Critical Care, Radiology, and PM&R.

The academic rank and track of the position is commensurate with the level of experience and qualifications of the applicant.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

* MD, DO, or equivalent degree

* ABNS board-certified or board-eligible

* Possess competency in general neurosurgery

* Clinical expertise in the care of patients with cerebrovascular diseases

* Background in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students

* Evidence of clinical and/or basic science research

* Possess the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment that fosters team science and multidisciplinary patient care

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

* Fellowship training in neuro-endovascular surgery (CAST-certified program)

* California medical license

* California Fluoroscopy Supervisor and Operator Permit
