As a Polymer Film Research Expert, in the Photochromics Group at the Monroeville Business and Technology Center, you will contribute to research work at the intersection of polymer science, films, films processes and material science. You will be related to the formulations and development of novel adhesive, optical coatings, films, film laminates and devices.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop new products through polymeric materials design, adhesives preparation, application, and testing.

* Elucidate structure-property relationships.

* Source and screen new film and resin materials.

* Characterize optical and adhesive properties.

* Maintain a safe working environment and be an advocate for lab safety.

* Apply efficient experimental design and statistical data analysis to accelerate product development.

* Collaborate with team members and external partners.

* Achieve project milestones promptly.

* Clearly communicate results through presentations and written reports.

* Pursue intellectual property protection for new technologies.

* Up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

* PhD in polymer chemistry, materials science, or other related field with 0+ years of experience or equivalent post-doctoral work

* Effective collaborator within multi-functional teams

* Creative hands-on scientist

* Strong analytical and math skills

* Self-starter in a team environment

* Knowledge of polymer science, film, film laminate, adhesion chemistry and devices is desired.

* Familiarity with organic chromophores, optics and conductive materials is a plus.
