Description and Requirements

The Senior Manager of Strategy & Operations will lead strategic projects, support annual planning and manage budget for the Digital Commerce Platform leadership team. You will be driving organizational effectiveness, strategic initiatives and cross-functional alignment. This role ensures seamless execution of priorities, transparent communication across the organization, and successful delivery of key initiatives that advance the digital commerce platform strategy. You will own the business management system, manage budgets, oversee key strategic initiatives, drive cross-functional communications and executive communication.

This position is remote with standard business hours in EST and works with global teams.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Own and continuously refine the organization's 3-year vision, translating strategic hypotheses around market position, competitive threats, and operating model gaps into a documented artifact the organization can rally around
  • Stress-test the vision against emerging signals and recommend course corrections to the Digital Commerce Platform Executive Director and his leadership team.
  • Manage annual strategic planning for the Digital Commerce Platform organization
  • Provide analysis and insights by building business models and investment cases based on key strategic questions facing the organization
  • Partner with leadership to develop, refine, and execute organizational strategy and roadmaps and drive key cross-functional strategic initiatives
  • Serve as a thought partner for the Digital Commerce Platform Executive Director and his leadership team on operational, technical, and strategic issues
  • Translate strategic vision into actionable plans with clear milestones and accountability
  • Provide structured decision support: gather inputs, analyze trade-offs, and frame recommendations to enable faster decision-making

Budget Management

  • Own the full budget lifecycle including planning, allocation, tracking, and reforecasting across people, tools, vendors, and programs
  • Build financial cases for investment decisions and maintain a rolling view of capital efficiency connecting spend directly to outcomes, not just projects

Business Operations & Performance

  • Define and maintain the canonical set of organizational artifacts including roadmaps, KPIs, team charters, and decision logs and hold teams accountable for on-time, high-quality delivery
  • Own the organization-level ROI and metrics framework defining what flow, value, and outcome mean at the Platform level
  • Establish and maintain a robust, transparent business management system and continuously improve the BMS, treating the operating system as a product with its own backlog and iteration cycle
  • Lead monthly and quarterly planning processes, including cross-functional business reviews
  • Collaborate with leaders to design and optimize team processes and workflows to improve organizational efficiency
  • Proactively identify opportunities for operational growth and efficiency

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization
  • Coordinate complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Facilitate working sessions and workshops to drive collaboration
  • Foster cross-team collaboration through shared frameworks and practices

People Development & Organizational Culture

  • Design and run the organization's people development framework including capability assessment, skill gap identification, and targeted training programs
  • Own onboarding for new operating processes and build career pathing frameworks appropriate to a persistent cross-functional team structure
  • Partner with HR and Talent on organizational design implications to support organizational design and restructuring efforts
  • Translate team feedback into actionable improvements
  • Create and manage recognition programs and facilitate with managers on consistency of team activities across teams & locations
  • Lead special projects related to team effectiveness and engagement

Internal Communications & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and execute internal communication strategies for the organization
  • Create and distribute regular and concise updates on team progress, wins, and priorities
  • Plan and manage all-hands meetings, town halls and leadership forums
  • Prepare executive communications and presentations
  • Ensure transparent, timely communication and consistent messaging across all organizational levels
  • Manage leadership team meetings, including agendas, pre-reads, and action item follow-up
  • Build and maintain relationships with executive stakeholders

Leadership Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to Digital Commerce Platform leadership
  • Enable the Platform leadership team to focus on strategic leadership and organizational vision by managing operational execution
  • Act as a proxy for leadership in meetings and discussions when appropriate
  • Anticipate leadership needs and proactively address potential issues before they escalate

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Experience in Digital or Technology organizations
  • Proven track record of driving complex, cross-functional initiatives to successful completion
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or relevant field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership Experience handling Digital Commerce/eCommerce initiatives
  • Strategic thinking: Ability to see the big picture while managing tactical execution
  • Program management: Exceptional ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
  • Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex topics
  • Problem-solving: Creative and resourceful approach to overcoming obstacles
  • Relationship building: Proven ability to influence without authority and build trust across levels
  • Adaptability: Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change, proactive and self-started
  • Detail Oriented: Committed to quality and excellence
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support the global responsibilities of the role
  • Technology: Familiarity with digital experience platforms and technologies
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum Methodologies
  • Proficiency with Project Management and Collaboration tools: Jira, Asana, PowerPoint, Confluence

The base salary budgeted range for this position is $160-180k. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. This position is remote with standard business hours in EST.
