Essential Job Duties
Support the Small Grains and Official Variety Trial programs by assisting with seed processing, seed inventory, and plot preparation for the 2026-2027 research season. Responsibilities include counting and processing seed, collecting and managing research data, and maintaining accurate records throughout the growing season.
Conduct field visits to monitor and document trial conditions, collect agronomic data, and assist with evaluating research plots. Support the installation, planting, maintenance, and harvest of field, greenhouse, and laboratory research projects involving wheat, soybean, corn, rice, and other crops as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Count, process, package, and organize seed for research trials.
  • Assist with data collection, entry, quality control, and management for variety trials.
  • Visit research field locations to monitor crop development and document trial conditions.
  • Collect agronomic and phenotypic data following established research protocols.
  • Assist with planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest management, and general maintenance of field and greenhouse research plots.
  • Support harvesting, sample processing, and post-harvest data collection.
  • Operate and maintain research equipment and assist with laboratory activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with research protocols and safety procedures.
  • Perform other research-related duties as assigned.
