Data Specialist II - Cancer Data Center

Shift: Shift 1/8:00:00AM to 4:30:00PM

Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$20.00 - $23.50 / hour

Performs a variety of key responsibilities associated with cancer registry data management, including comprehensive case finding through review of multiple clinical systems, including Epic. Identifies and tracks reportable cancer cases in accordance with state and national registry standards. Runs and exports data reports to Excel for tracking, quality review, and reporting purposes. Performs detailed work examining clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with registry data standards. Multi-task oriented with the ability to appropriately handle complex case finding and data validation issues. Maintains strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Works independently in a remote capacity while maintaining consistent communication with the Cancer Data Registry team.

Experience in a cancer registry, tumor registry, HIM department, or related clinical data role preferred.Knowledge of medical terminology, oncology-specific documentation, and cancer registry data standards (e.g., NCDB, NAACCR, state registry requirements) preferred. Ability to navigate and cross-reference multiple clinical systems to identify reportable cases.
