The Field Engineer II - Structured Cabling is a senior technical resource responsible for supporting project execution, quality assurance, field engineering, and customer deliverables across structured cabling and low-voltage systems. This role serves as a key link between field operations, project management, estimating, and customers, ensuring projects are installed, tested, documented, and delivered according to design specifications and industry standards. Success in this position requires strong technical expertise, leadership, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to independently manage complex field activities from project kickoff through closeout. What You'll Do Lead the technical execution of structured cabling and low-voltage projects, including troubleshooting, testing, quality assurance, and installation support. You'll interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation; develop shop drawings and submittals; and provide guidance to installation teams and project managers throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include conducting site assessments, supporting estimating efforts, identifying change order opportunities, documenting existing conditions, coordinating with subcontractors, and serving as a technical liaison between field teams and pre-construction personnel. You'll oversee system testing, punch lists, closeout documentation, and quality control activities while helping drive best practices, process improvements, and successful project delivery. What You'll Bring You bring advanced structured cabling and low-voltage experience with the technical expertise to support complex commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects. You have a proven ability to troubleshoot system issues, interpret technical documentation, perform field assessments, and manage technical project requirements with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills with a hands-on approach to project execution and quality assurance. You're comfortable collaborating with customers, project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and estimating personnel while balancing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments. You take ownership of project outcomes, provide mentorship and technical guidance to others, and consistently focus on safety, quality, documentation accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Most importantly, you're a proactive problem solver who can bridge the gap between design, construction, and field operations to help deliver successful projects from kickoff through final turnover. Qualifications Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: We're seeking an experienced low-voltage and structured cabling professional with 4-6 years of commercial experience supporting projects from planning through customer turnover. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with project coordination skills, allowing them to manage multiple priorities while ensuring quality, schedule, and customer expectations are met. This individual is comfortable defining project scope, developing work plans, coordinating resources, and driving projects to successful completion. They work effectively with customers, field teams, project managers, and stakeholders, bringing a collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. Successful candidates will have strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and MS Project. They must be capable of working independently, adapting to changing project demands, and maintaining a high level of professionalism in customer-facing environments. Most importantly, we're looking for a dependable team player who takes ownership of their work, communicates effectively in English, thrives in fast-paced environments, and consistently delivers high-quality solutions while maintaining a strong focus on safety, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. English language proficiency, including the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English, is required. This is based on the requirement to communicate directly with customer(s) and other employees, to complete regular reporting both to management and to the customer, and to promote safety and efficient communication in the case of emergencies.
