Job Summary The Shipping and Receiving Manager will lead, manage, supervise, plan and coordinate all day-to-day functions in the Shipping and Receiving departments. This includes overseeing the safe and efficient unloading and storing of all inbound raw materials, coordinating the picking of corrugated units and preparing them for same-day shipping, and planning shipments to meet and exceed customer requirements. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that documentation for all orders picked, packed, and shipped is done accurately, efficiently, and on time.
- Partner with all functions to ensure on-time customer delivery.
- Participate in various ERP and Continuous Improvement initiatives to ensure progressive changes are made to enhance customer service and quality.
- Effectively utilize performance management to coach, mentor, and discipline staff when required, including adherence to the PMP schedule for all employees.
- Develop employees through cross-training initiatives to ensure we build depth and leverage our skills base throughout the organization.
- Maintain safety as a priority ensuring complete leadership and support on Safety Policies and Programs, including legal compliance, Early Safe Return to Work, Personal Protective Equipment, and all other aspects of safety.
- Oversee the selection and scheduling of common carriers to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery of all shipments.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all inventories in the warehouse; conduct cycle counts of selected inventory items.
- Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the maintenance department to ensure all forklifts are operating properly and address any and all safety concerns.
- Work with freight carriers to establish cost-effective pricing.
- Capitalize on our ERP system to ensure accurate and timely documentation to ship all orders.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain Manager to ensure all production is properly received in the warehouse.
- May be required to be involved in the recruiting process, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
Qualifications
- Forklift driving experience is required.
- Prior experience in the corrugated industry and moving floor loaded materials is preferred.
- Prior experience working with Amtech/Encore is preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic math.
- Able to read and follow instructions on job tickets.
- Successfully complete the Company's forklift certification program and follow safety policies.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Minimum 9th grade basic education, high school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
