Job Summary The Senior Logistics Manager, reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Operations, is tasked with managing logistics and inventory operations spanning multiple off-site Grady Health System locations. The ideal candidate will spearhead the development and execution of efficient logistics and inventory management strategies to guarantee smooth supply chain operations, cost-effectiveness, and optimal inventory levels. This managerial role entails providing strategic leadership and guidance for the respective facilities, collaborating closely with Supply Chain Leadership to implement clearly defined business strategies. Maintaining open lines of communication with facility executives, departmental heads, suppliers, and relevant stakeholders is paramount to ensuring the effectiveness of departmental operations. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and guide logistics and inventory specialist teams across various facilities, ensuring uniformity and compliance with top-tier practices in logistics and inventory management. Formulate and implement a holistic logistics and supply management strategy that aligns seamlessly with organizational objectives. * Oversee transportation, distribution, and delivery operations to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods. Collaborate with external vendors and carriers to streamline logistics processes. * Provides system-wide oversight and management of all receiving operations, ensuring accurate intake, inspection, and distribution of goods across the health system while optimizing efficiency, controls, and vendor coordination. * Leads and manages linen distribution operations across the entire health system, ensuring consistent availability, inventory control, and service quality to support clinical and operational needs. * Manage courier logistics vendor to ensure timely delivery of essential items to remote destinations. Oversee courier operations to ensure adherence to prescribed procedures and standards. * Develop advanced supply distribution processes and inventory level controls to ensure product is efficiently, effectively and timely delivered to customers throughout the organization, and adequate PAR levels are maintained while balancing carrying costs and storage costs with having the right supplies in the right place at the right time. * Work with teams to establish and maintain appropriate staffing levels on all shifts. Ensure staff training has been conducted to prepare all for proper performance of their jobs; ensure ongoing training and education efforts are made and are successful. Quickly assess and create a workable plan for the department while being able to communicate and prioritize the process, ensuring positive outcomes. * Communicate expectations and vision for top tier performance, with goals, metrics and provide ongoing feedback. Demonstrate and promote strategic thinking and drive problem-solving by empowering and supporting team members to be responsible and accountable within their scope of practice, including positive work interactions within Supply Chain, between departments and customers. * Serve as the Emergency Management Representative for supply chain operations, overseeing various aspects such as planning, sourcing, and stocking supplies to support clinical practices. Responsibilities also include supply location reconfiguration, monitoring supply chain consumption via inventory management systems, and coordinating transportation of equipment and supplies across Grady Health facilities. * Set performance benchmarks to gauge productivity, enhance efficiency in logistics and materials management, and drive positive outcomes such as inventory turns, elimination of redundant inventories, inventory reduction, and decreased write-offs, all aimed at elevating customer satisfaction. * Leverage state-of-the-art inventory management systems and advanced technological tools to enhance accuracy, streamline operations, and enhance reporting capabilities. Employ materials management technology solutions to achieve optimal efficiencies while ensuring smooth integration with other systems, including materials inventory management, surgical information, patient charge systems, and point-of-use technology. * Engage regularly with key clinical leaders and physician stakeholders about scope of responsibility to understand strategic plan, goals, metrics, and outcomes, to influence and gain commitment to compliance, improve operational efficiency, cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction. * Undertakes additional tasks to maintain departmental efficiency and ensure client satisfaction, fostering an atmosphere of continuous improvement, recruitment, training, mentoring of logistics and inventory control personnel, and collaboration. QUALIFICATIONS: 7+ years of progressive healthcare supply chain experience Minimum 3-5 years leading managers, supervisors, or large operational teams Managerial experience in a healthcare environment 10+ years of healthcare supply chain experience multi-site healthcare logistics leadership experience EDUCATION: BS Business Administration or Management BACHELOR OF SCIENCE Core Competencies 1.
