IT Support and Network Administrator

Employment Type: Full-Time

Level: Mid-Level

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

For over 70 years Fishbeck has been building. As a 100% employee-owned firm, every team member has a stake in what we build together-our work, our reputation, and our future. Now we need to add an IT Support and Network Administrator to help us keep building.

Working with our Information Technology team, you will play a hands-on role in supporting our employees while helping maintain the reliability, security, and performance of Fishbeck's technology environment. This hybrid role combines end-user support with network and platform administration, with time shared approximately evenly between our Help Desk and Network Administration teams based on business and operational needs.

This is a great opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys solving day-to-day technical challenges while continuing to expand their experience with networks, systems, security, and Microsoft technologies.

What You'll Do

  • Provide timely, professional, and customer-focused technical support to employees across the organization
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, account access, application, printing, and connectivity issues
  • Configure, image, deploy, and support Windows 11 workstations in accordance with IT and security standards
  • Install, configure, update, and troubleshoot Microsoft applications, specialized design software, and other business applications
  • Support user accounts, groups, access, and permissions across Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Egnyte
  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, workstation lifecycle activities, and equipment deployment
  • Assist with the administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of wired and wireless networks, remote connectivity, and related infrastructure
  • Support network security controls, secure access practices, endpoint protection, patching, and vulnerability remediation
  • Investigate escalated issues involving network connectivity, identity, authentication, permissions, and system access
  • Coordinate with internal IT teams and technology vendors during upgrades, system changes, troubleshooting, and service restoration
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including knowledge articles, configurations, procedures, standards, and troubleshooting resources
  • Identify opportunities to improve support processes, automate repeatable tasks, strengthen security, and improve system reliability

What We're Looking For

  • Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in IT support, systems administration, network support, or a related role
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience supporting Windows 11, workstation imaging and deployment, application installation, and end-user troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft 365 services, including Microsoft Entra ID and Exchange Online
  • Foundational knowledge of network technologies and troubleshooting concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, switching, wireless networking, and firewalls
  • Experience managing user access and permissions with an understanding of least-privilege principles and other security fundamentals
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills with a structured approach to identifying and resolving issues
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to explain technical information in clear, practical terms
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing requests and follow tasks through to completion
  • Ability to create clear, accurate, and useful technical documentation
  • A collaborative mindset, personal accountability, and a desire to continue learning and taking on broader technical responsibilities
  • Experience with Egnyte or a similar enterprise file-sharing and content platform is preferred
  • Experience supporting Autodesk, Bentley, or other design and engineering applications is a plus
  • Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, or security-related certifications are a plus
