Job Summary

The Phlebotomist II will work independently at an IOP location, primarily serving young adults through geriatric patients. This is a primary care location where the Phlebotomist will be responsible for blood collection, patient check-in, and specimen processing. The candidate should be comfortable working alone at the site and handling daily patient and laboratory responsibilities.


Position Responsibilities


  • Perform phlebotomy and blood collections for primarily young adult through geriatric patients.



  • Work independently at the IOP location.



  • Check in patients and assist with the patient intake process.



  • Perform specimen processing according to established procedures.



  • Maintain accurate patient and specimen information.



  • Follow appropriate laboratory and safety procedures.



  • Provide professional and courteous patient service.



  • Communicate clearly with patients and address questions related to the collection process.



  • Handle challenging or hard-stick patients when needed.



  • Maintain an organized and efficient workflow while working independently.




Work Environment


  • Primary care IOP location.



  • Primarily works with young adults through geriatric patients.



  • Candidate will work alone at the site.



  • Responsibilities include both patient check-in and specimen processing.



  • No travel required.



  • Good communication skills are important for the role.




Minimum Qualifications


  • High School Diploma/GED.



  • Phlebotomy experience.



  • Ability to work independently at a site.



  • Experience working with young adults through geriatric patients.



  • Comfortable performing blood collections.



  • Knowledge/experience with hard-stick patients.



  • Strong communication skills.



  • Ability to perform patient check-in and specimen processing.



  • Comfortable handling the responsibilities of a primary care IOP location.
