As a Survey Crew Chief I, you'll play a key role in collecting the accurate field data that drives successful engineering, planning, and construction projects.

What You'll Do

As a Survey Crew Chief I, you will support surveying activities that help ensure construction projects comply with plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. You'll work on a variety of projects while collecting and analyzing information used to design, construct, and maintain critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:



  • Performing boundary, topographic, as-built, subdivision, and profile surveys.
  • Collecting, researching, and analyzing deeds, property records, utility information, and survey data.
  • Operating survey equipment and technology to gather accurate field measurements.
  • Preparing field notes, calculations, sketches, reports, and survey documentation.
  • Assisting with mapping legal boundaries and documenting existing site conditions.
  • Collaborating with engineers, technicians, project managers, and clients to support project delivery.
  • Verifying data accuracy and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
  • Maintaining a strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.


What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant surveying experience.
  • Knowledge of easements, rights-of-way, plats, boundary surveys, property descriptions, and GPS surveys.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative project team.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Surveying, Geospatial Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with public and private sector projects.
  • Familiarity with:

    • Leica Robotic Total Stations
    • GPS Survey Equipment
    • AutoCAD
    • Civil 3D
    • MicroStation
    • GeoPak
