Work Schedule
7:00 am - 4:00 pm, with varying days off in conjunction with event schedules. Work hours may also include evening, weekend, and holiday hours as necessary to accommodate event coverage
Mandatory Position

This position is designated as 'mandatory' during adverse weather or emergency events, and when contacted to report to work, the employee is expected to reach the campus as quickly as possible using normal precautions as dictated by adverse weather conditions.

In the event of an area disaster, the Student Activity Center may be designated for use as an emergency shelter or for emergency operations.
Primary Purpose of Position
This position serves as an Operations Coordinator, with responsibility for oversight of the daily operations of Halton Arena, including housekeeping, event setup (large/small), inventory management, and all associated safety guideline compliance and enforcement. Work responsibilities may also be associated with other athletic facilities, as appropriate or necessary.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, and one (1) year of experience in the area assigned; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Job Duties

  • Work with a 3rd-party contracted cleaning company and Maintenance supervisors to effectively communicate expectations of the department and facilities to the department.
  • Establish rules, standards, guidelines, and policies governing the quality and quantity of work.
  • Determine work priorities and timelines for staff as it relates to daily work, projects, and event support.
  • Ensure proper planning for set-ups, equipment, and staffing to support daily operations and events.
  • Determine and develop training sessions necessary for employees for safety/security and equipment best practices.
  • Assist the Senior Director of Operations with inventory of all equipment and 49er Mart purchases of supplies for all athletic facilities.
  • Manage all shipping and receiving of items and equipment for the facility.
  • Manage storage space in the facility
  • Responsible for all training on equipment for staff
  • Work with Supervisors to determine objectives, establish work standards, and set expectations & goals to meet facility needs consistently
  • Maintain an up-to-date equipment inventory for all facility equipment and assist in performing annual inventory in conjunction with UNC Charlotte
  • Assess equipment needs and make recommendations to the Senior Director for Operations on replacement
  • Serve as Operations Manager on Duty for Events as assigned, including - Volleyball Games/Women's Basketball/Cheerleading/Jiu-Jitsu

    • Any major events as needed



  • Liaise with the Senior Director of Operations and team members to optimize schedules and address staffing needs. Monitor staff availability and adjust shifts as necessary to meet operational demands.
  • Master Checklists: Creating and maintaining task assignments and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for staff.
  • Time Management: Meeting tight pre- and post-game deadlines in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Manage and Coordinate usage of rapid Salon floor diagram set-ups and changeovers for Events.
