Position Summary

Berkeley's UCPath Training Coordinator serves as the campus trainer for UCPath, leading the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of training and learning resources supporting UCPath and related business processes at UC Berkeley. The position provides campus-wide UCPath training and access support, including training required for expanded UCPath access and associated security and segregation-of-duties requirements.

The position assesses training needs, develops and maintains accessible curriculum and learning resources, and delivers training through multiple modalities, including instructor-led, virtual, eLearning, microlearning, and other learning solutions. The role supports employees at all levels, from new users to experienced transactional users and supervisors, and evaluates training effectiveness to continuously improve the program.

The position partners with Berkeley's UCPath Operations team, subject matter experts, business owners, UCPath Center/UC Office of the President, organizational change management, and other campus partners to translate complex system, policy, and process changes into clear and effective learning experiences. The role also supports training communications, Communities of Practice, and change management activities and helps evolve the campus training model as UCPath processes and related technologies, including ServiceNow, change.

Responsibilities

20%

  • Leads the campus UCPath training program, assessing training needs, evaluating effectiveness, and developing training strategies aligned with system, policy, and business process changes.

25%

  • Develops and maintains digitally accessible UCPath curriculum and learning resources for diverse audiences, including instructor-led training, eLearning, microlearning, job aids, webinars, and other learning solutions.

20%

  • Delivers and facilitates UCPath training through in-person, virtual, and other modalities, adapting content and delivery methods to meet the needs and learning styles of various audiences.

10%

  • Manages UCPath training operations and learning systems, including course structure, scheduling, prerequisites, registration, completion tracking, and coordination with the campus learning management system team.

15%

  • Partners with UCPath Operations, UCPath/UCOP, subject matter experts, business owners, OCM, and campus stakeholders to coordinate training and support readiness for system, policy, and process changes.

5%

  • Supports UCPath communications, Communities of Practice/Focus Groups, and change management activities, including training-related website, email newsletter, and other user resources.

  • Participates in professional development to maintain and expand knowledge of instructional design, adult learning, learning technologies, UCPath, and related business processes, as well as pursue other professional development opportunities relevant to the position and career growth.

Required Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of training and development principles, adult learning theory, instructional design, and learning methodologies.
  • Thorough knowledge of training needs assessment, curriculum development, training delivery, and evaluation.
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical, system, policy, and process information into clear, effective learning experiences for diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues, identify training needs, and develop practical recommendations.
  • Experience developing and maintaining training materials and learning resources across multiple modalities, including instructor-led training, virtual learning, eLearning, microlearning, job aids, and webinars.
  • Ability to manage multiple training programs, projects, priorities, and deadlines in a complex and changing environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts, business owners, technical teams, project teams, and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to evaluate training effectiveness using participant feedback, completion data, and other measures and apply findings to improve training programs.
  • Ability to develop accessible and user-centered learning materials and resources.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in selecting training methods, technologies, and delivery approaches.
  • Proficient at working independently, while also contributing effectively to a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and skills with and/or ability to learn the learning management systems and instructional design technologies, including Microsoft Office, Articulate Rise 360/Storyline, Scribe, or similar tools.
  • Experience with and/or ability to learn PeopleSoft, UCPath, ServiceNow, or comparable enterprise systems.
  • Experience with and/or ability to learn learning management systems, such as Cornerstone, SumTotal, UC Learning Center, or comparable platforms.
  • Knowledge of enterprise systems, business processes, and organizational change and the ability to quickly learn and understand complex systems and processes.
  • Experience supporting system implementations, organizational change, or large-scale technology and process changes.
  • Experience developing accessible digital learning materials, job aids, and self-service resources that meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • Experience in higher education, human resources, payroll, or another complex organizational environment.

Education / Training

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training (Required)

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.

The budgeted annual range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $78,425.28 - $102,753.00.

  • This is a full-time (40 hours/week) Career position eligible for UC benefits.
