This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Campus and remote.

DESCRIPTION

Assists in marketing activities and responsibilities such as drafting promotional or marketing materials, working on marketing events, and conducting basic market research, etc. Activities and assignments are designed to expose incumbents to fundamental marketing concepts and principles.

Entry-level professional with limited prior experience; learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity; works on assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. Employees at this level are expected to acquire the skills and knowledge to perform more advanced work following an agreed upon time in position, through defined training and development planning.

Under the supervision of the Director of Communications, provides support for departmental marketing and communications initiatives through content development, website maintenance, newsletter production, social media communications, and editorial projects. Assists in creating and distributing communication materials that promote the Department of Surgery's clinical, research, educational, and outreach activities. Performs assigned communications and marketing activities while working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and departmental stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and audience-focused messaging.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Four (4) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles, strategies, techniques and practices.

  • Basic knowledge of the campus and / or medical center, including its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
