Purpose of Position:

Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte, Contadina and S&W. We are currently seeking a Insights & Analytics Manager.

The role of Insights & Analytics Manager is responsible for supporting the Foods Division commercial organization reporting capabilities, tool creation, and analytic capabilities. This role is responsible for providing insights on one or more business units. This manager supports the Foods Division capabilities in building, maintaining, and drawing insights from syndicated and retailer POS and shopper card data with speed, agility, and efficiency. This individual explores new and emerging industry technologies and data to enable faster acquisition of insights from POS, shopper card, and other data sources. Additionally, this individual can create compelling HQ stories for specific business objectives for one or more business units that enable the field to achieve increased distribution and the brand team(s) to better understand the category competitive landscape across customers.

This individual ensures accurate and timely reporting of data to the commercial organization. He/She is also charged with the training and enablement of all commercial team associates in the use of reports, tools, and platforms. This individual is a thought leader in ways and methods for improving the Foods Division ability to interpret and synthesize data insights. The Insights & Analytics Business Manager closely collaborates and partners with internal stakeholders as well as key contacts from Circana, Stratum, EYC, Dunhumby, and other data providers ensuring our users are properly supported and trained.

Accountabilities:

  • Manages the creation, maintenance, and timely delivery of reporting that supports clear understanding of business performance (i.e., Syndicated and BW data).
  • Creates, maintains, and delivers tools that support the sales and marketing organizations in a wide variety of insights delivery.
  • Oversees the creation and delivery of templates and reports from syndicated data providers that support quick access to data and insights; ensures accuracy of reports and format is consistent with how Foods views their businesses.
  • Ensures Foods Division users have access to excellent customer service, system training, job aids, and information (i.e., system upgrades and changes, outages, and operational issues/changes).
  • Acts as the subject matter expert in the data purchased and used by the Foods Division commercial team with the ability to simply translate data measures into easy-to-understand terms for users.
  • Leads and provides training and support to users.
  • Works closely with cross functional partners to ensure new technologies are properly planned, embedded and supported for optimal utilization and investment returned to the organization.
  • Works closely with IT on the integration of data lake technologies and that visualization platforms are enabled to access data lake information broadly across the commercial organization.
  • Contributes to/Leads business analyses in support of commercial and executive leadership team questions on business performance.
  • Provides thought leadership on improvements to reporting and tool efficiencies.
  • Leverages a range of data sources-including syndicated, retailer loyalty, and internal data-to generate actionable shopper and business insights for both customer-facing work and internal initiatives.
  • Creates compelling, concise, and visual headquarter selling stories using multiple data sources for one or more business units and in collaboration with the Brand and Customer Strategy teams.
  • Serves as a trusted thought partner, bringing forward innovative, insight-led ideas to drive business growth.
  • Partners with Brand and Customer Strategy teams to identify and activate growth opportunities across innovation, assortment, shelving, pricing, and promotion.
  • Provides support for the Field Insights and BU teams on planogram work on an ad hoc basis.
  • Builds and maintains strong, consultative relationships with key stakeholders to influence decision-making and execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills Required:

  • 4+ years of industry or relevant experience.
  • Advanced computer proficiency in Retailer POS, Syndicated and Panel data, Microsoft Excel, Nielsen, and/or Circana, proficiency in PowerPoint as well as other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in utilizing shopper card data systems such as Dunnhumby, Stratum, Circana Gateway, and others.
  • Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills.
  • Emerging data visualization and storytelling capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attitude with a strong team-orientation.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Experience in Space Planning.
