Overview: As a Financial Analyst at Arete, you will compile and review budgets, analyze financial trends, manage funds, and ensure proper financial administration. You'll prepare financial plans, generate reports, maintain records, and evaluate variances. You'll also analyze contracts, develop financial metrics, and review timesheet charges for accuracy. Primary responsibilities: Support program cost management activities, including budget development, forecasting, variance analysis, and monthly reporting Assist with preparation of financial data for Program Management Reviews and customer reporting packages Help analyze actuals vs. plan and identify drivers behind cost, schedule, and labor variances Support preparation of Estimates at Complete (EACs) and risk/opportunity assessment Work with crossfunctional partners (engineering, operations, supply chain) to gather financial inputs and understand performance drivers Maintain financial models, dashboards, and templates that support program reporting and business decisionmaking Contribute to adhoc financial analyses as required by program, functional, or leadership needs We have an impressive range of benefits, programs, and perks that we offer: Generous PTO and Leave Times Flextime Scheduling Bereavement Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Parental Leave Financial Benefits 401K Retirement Plan Contribution Employee Stock Ownership Plan Continuing Education Funds Health, Medical, and Wellness Benefits Medical Insurance Dental & Vision Insurance Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability (LTD) Vision Reimbursement Qualities We Look For: Creativity and innovation in solving challenges Integrity and responsibility in all actions Collaboration across teams and specialties Responsiveness in fast-paced environments Passion for national security and excellence Experiences and Background We Look For (Required Skills): Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Math, Engineering, or related field Strong analytical and quantitative skills with an ability to interpret financial data accurately Working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic modeling) and proficiency with general business systems Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadlinedriven environment Familiarity with basic financial concepts such as budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, and variance analysis Nice to Have (Preferred Skills): Internship or project experience in defense, aerospace, government contracting, or manufacturing Experience with financial or ERP systems such as SAP, Cobra, Deltek Costpoint, or similar tools Intermediate to advanced Excel (macros, Power Query, advanced formulas) or data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) Strong problemsolving skills with ability to identify trends and recommend improvements The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $75,000/yr; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
