Distribution Groundman Trainee

THE JOB FUNCTION INCLUDES:

Responsibilities:

A.Learns and follows Coop Safety Rules and Regulations, and becomes familiar with construction specifications.

B.Learns the proper use of tools and techniques used in knot tying, hand lines and tackles.

C.Learns how to assist crew by handling material, pulling wire, framing poles on ground, and other related ground duties.

D.Learns where materials are stored on truck, and assists in keeping unit stocked with necessary materials in an orderly manner.

E.Loads and unloads material needed for daily assigned jobs; assists in disassembly of all retired material for charging back to stores.

F.Keeps job site and truck clean and orderly, checking site for tools and material upon completion of job.

G.Sets out traffic signs, flags traffic and operates automotive equipment as directed.

In addition, duties of equal or lesser skill may be assigned by the Chief Lineman, Machine Equipment Operator, or assigned supervisor, to meet emergencies or other operating needs.

In addition, a 3% non-elective 401k contribution is provided to the employee and they are eligible to receive a matching contribution of $.50 on the dollar not to exceed 1%.

Education:

This job requires reading, writing and mathematics; therefore, a high school diploma or the equivalent is preferred, but not required.
