This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth's orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space

A level III Piping Engineer plays a pivotal role in the design and validation of piping systems. Leveraging your extensive experience, you will apply your in-depth knowledge of AutoPIPE to qualify ASME B31.3 process piping systems. Proficiency with FE PIPE / NozzlePRO for qualifying ASME Section VIII Vessel nozzles and pipe support design and qualification is essential. In this position, you will peer review and provide guidance to younger engineers, helping to develop their skills and expertise.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the design and assessment of process piping systems for aerospace ground applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and optimal functionality.
  • Utilize AutoPIPE to conduct comprehensive analysis and design for complex piping systems, ensuring compliance with ASME B31.3 standards.
  • Apply expertise in FE PIPE and NozzlePRO to qualify Section VIII Vessel nozzles by employing advanced tools and methodologies to achieve accurate results.
  • Provide specialized knowledge in pipe support design and qualification to ensure the stability and efficiency of piping and process systems.
  • Establish and oversee workflow processes for rapid build, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and streamlined development of piping systems.
  • Conduct peer reviews of project work, providing valuable feedback and guidance to junior engineers to foster their professional growth and development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 7+ years of experience in piping engineering, with a focus on the qualification of ASME B31.3 process piping systems.
  • Proven expertise in utilizing AutoPIPE for advanced analysis and design of piping systems.
  • Proficient in FE PIPE / NozzlePRO for the qualification of Section VIII Vessel nozzles.
  • Experienced in pipe support design and qualification.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and codes related to piping system design and qualification.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Engineering degree
