Construction Project Schedulers should be self-motivated with an ability to work independently and efficiently, while also collaborating closely with our Operations Project Teams. We are looking for a Project Scheduler to use their construction knowledge and scheduling abilities to support planning & scheduling efforts on multiple projects. The Project Scheduler will also aid in Corporate Initiatives including, but not limited to, project pursuits, training, and development of others in the scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and specifications and develop detailed base building construction baseline project schedules including accurate construction sequencing, logic, Work Breakdown Structure, and activity coding. Lead schedule development meetings with project teams as required to obtain input for creation of the baseline schedule.
- Understanding of scheduling standards, methods, and procedures that includes advanced Planning and Scheduling techniques, Risk Analysis, Risk Management, and support of project objectives.
- Perform monthly schedule updates for multiple project teams concurrently. Lead monthly schedule review meetings with project teams to ensure accuracy of updates. Develop schedule reports as required and assist the project team in ensuring preparation of accurate monthly schedule narratives.
- Develop schedules for submission with bid proposals while working closely with Operations and Preconstruction Teams.
- Ensure contract compliance for all schedule deliverables.
- Prepare resource and cost loaded project schedule reports each month as required for Owner payment applications.
- Perform site visits to projects under active construction. Monitor progress of work in the field and verify accuracy of the monthly schedule updates.
- Assist the project team(s) in identifying, tracking, and documenting schedule delays and impacts. Prepare delay claim and time-impact analysis reporting. Create schedule fragnets as required and assist the project teams with analyzing schedule scenarios.
- Monitor and communicate the reasons for schedule variances to project teams and propose corrective solutions to project teams.
- Provide project teams and clients with clear, timely and accurate information relating to scheduling.
- Ability to work independently and interact professionally with Project Managers, team leaders, Subcontractors, and the Customer.
- Mentor and train project team members on subjects related to scheduling to support their growth and development within the organization.
Knowledge, Experience, and Special Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or Related field.
- Three (3) years of scheduling experience on commercial construction projects in excess of Ten (10) Million Dollars; or a combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, (other project scheduling software a plus)
- Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and BIM experience a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Trustworthy, self-motivated, passionate and dedicated to high-quality work.
Job Demands
Individuals should be able to reach above and below, stoop and bend, sit, walk, and stand. Individuals should also be able to lift, carry and/or moving items up to 50lbs. May be exposed to heavy machinery/equipment, hazardous chemicals and extreme weather conditions. Minimum of 40 hours per week required. Works hours will vary depending on project specifications and may involve weekends and night work.
